CASCET, or the Campaign Against Stoughton Co-Op Eco Town, is a non-profit, non-political pressure group with the aim of halting the proposed Eco Town for South-East Leicestershire, provisionally called Pennbury.
Our membership is drawn from all walks of life across South East Leicestershire, from County and local councillors to local businessmen and concerned residents. If it the Government decide to allow Pennbury to be built, it will affect all of us, regardless of where we live or how much we earn.
Widespread Support
With the support of parish councils and local political groups, we aim to raise awareness of the Pennbury project and highlight the serious flaws in both the concept. We also aim to expose the highly secretive and ill-conceived process by which local residents and organisations are consulted and the Government will make its decision on the Eco Towns to be built.
