Pennbury - a new town the size of Hinckley on our doorstep

Pennbury is a proposed new "eco" town that will destroy our beautiful green fields and cultural heritage and built without local public consultation.

The Co-Operative Group are planning 15,000 houses, provisionally called Pennbury, on their Stoughton Estate. Pennburyis on the Government shortlist of 15 potential Eco Towns. A decision on the location of up to 10 sites is due later this autumn. More...

Pennbury is on 750 hectares of greenfield farmland and home to many species of wildlife. There is a serious risk of flooding if Pennbury is built and the area has no transport infrastructure.

CASCET is not against affordable housing or Eco Towns. Pennbury will be 50% bigger than Market Harborough and is in completely the wrong place. This development would cause untold damage to the environment and completely ruin a beautiful part of Leicestershire.
